National Toy Fair India, 2021

NATIONAL TOY FAIR (FEBRUARY 27 - MARCH 2, 2021)

Ministry of Textiles, GOI, in collaboration with other Ministries, is organizing the first National Toy Fair from February 27 to March 2, 2021, with an aim to provide joyful learning to children as well as to promote the indigenous toy industry.

Aimed at providing a platform to states to develop toys reflecting the history, culture, and social milieu specific to the states and also to revive the traditional and indigenous toys in the lives of children, the National Toy Fair would also boost the economy by supporting local toy industry under ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’. Further, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has also stressed the significance of toys while spearheading a push to manufacturing more toys domestically in “Mann Ki Baat” on Aug 30, 2020.

The Fair would display childhood games, tangible or invented, which are crucial for a child's cognitive development and early socialization, and allow children to think outside the box — stoking their creativity and imaginative capabilities. 75 exhibition stalls from the Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL), Ministry of Education, National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT), State Council for Educational Research and Training (SCERT), along with 200 toys developed at the Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar’s (IIT-Gn) Center for Creative Learning (CCL) would also feature in this Fair.
