Consul General Prakash Gupta visited the “Spirit of Spring” organized by Bhartiya Community on 9th April 2016 at the Shimao Club in Pudong.  During the event, at least 30 stalls from each of the members of Bhartiya Community were put on display (items mostly featured Indian cultural items, Indian dresses and motifs) and were put on sale for nominal price to the Chinese participants.  Proceeds of the sale are being contributed towards a philanthropic cause.  The Bhartiya Community also regularly organizes classes on Indian culture, Indian dance and Indian festivals for Indian kids who are living in the Pudong area.

            Consul General complimented the leadership of Bhartiya Community for organizing such a large scale participation of Indian community members from the Pudong region and encouraged them to organize more such events in the future.  He also assured them of Consulate’s fullest support in any facilitation that Bhartiya Community –Shanghai needed in undertaking their operations in Shanghai.
