Procedure for submission of visa application for holders of Diplomatic/Official/UN passports

Visa applications from holders of Diplomatic/Official/UN are accepted directly in the Visa Wing, Consulate General of India, Shanghai on all working days from 0900 hrs to 1100 hrs without prior appointment. Applications can also be deposited by a representative designated by the applicant/institution. Once approval to issue Visa is received, Consular department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be intimated.

All diplomatic / Official Visa holders also advised to go through health and quarantine regulation given hereAll applicants must first apply online (https://indianvisaonline.gov.in) and then submit the printout of the completed Visa application form at the Consulate.

Documents required:

  1. Official Note Verbale
  2. In case official Note Verbale is not available, a request from Ministry/Department of Government of India;
  3. 2 passport sized photographs (one pasted on the application, and one separately attached with the application);
  4. Passport of the applicant valid for at least next 180 days and carrying two consecutive blank pages.
  5. Undertaking
  6. Travel details and COVID 19 (RT-PCR) test results within 72 hours of boarding the flight from any center authorized by Chinese Government.
