Inauguration of new factory of LMW Suzhou Co. Ltd

The new factory of Lakshmi Machine Works (LMW) Suzhou Co. Ltd. was inaugurated in Wujiang, Suzhou on 12 June 2014. Mr. Xu Ming, Vice Mayor of Suzhou as well as senior officials from Suzhou and Wujiang Municipal governments were present at the inaugural ceremony along with Consul General of India in Shanghai, Chairman and Managing Director of LMW and its Board Members. The Ground breaking of the new site for the factory was done last year on 17 February.

Lakshmi Machine Works Limited (LMW) is a major textile machinery manufacturer in India and is also one among the three players in the world to offer the complete range of textile spinning machinery. LMW Textile Machinery (Suzhou) Company Ltd (LMWTMSCL) was started by LMW as a wholly owned subsidiary in China in 2009, with a view to manufacture and supply Textile Spinning Machinery to this large market. Over the last six years it has built a reputation in China for providing world class textile spinning machines at competitive prices and has been able to establish itself a major supplier in China.  LMW has been able to do this even while facing competition from both Western and Japanese companies as also from domestic Chinese manufacturers. The new plant, which was built with an outlay of $29 million, would be a major boost to LMW’s plans to consolidate its position in the Chinese market.
