Ladies and Gentleman,

Namaskar, Dajia Hao, Good Morning to all of you!!

I am extremely happy to be in the city of Zhenjiang, which is an important industrial centre and rising star, not only of Jiangsu Province but also of China. India and China are two great civilizations of the world, and share millennia-old relationship. Today, we together, represent more than one-third of the Global population. Also, the two countries are the fastest growing economies of the world and engines of global economic growth.

India has undergone elections last month and the results were declared exactly one month back giving overwhelming majority to the party led by Prime Minister Modi. The efforts made by his government in last 5 years has been acknowledged and appreciated not only by the people of India but also by key economic agencies, but also by world at large. After witnessing 5 years of unprecedented growth of over 7.5 % India enters into the phase of consolidation with high growth trajectory.

I have brought an e-book entitled “India Surging Ahead” giving details of almost all sectors of the Indian economy. This book has been translated in Chinese by us. You would like to have a look to this book.

India has also emerged as the fastest growing major economy in the world and is expected to be one of the top three economic powers of the world over the next 10-15 years, backed by its strong governance and partnerships.

The economic reforms process is reflected in the improvement of India’s performance in almost all economic indicators; some of the important indicators are:

  1. Chinese companies can take advantage of favourable policy regime, relatively lower wages, special investment privileges such as tax exemptions, and robust business environment. In recent years FDI norms in India has been substantially relaxed across the sectors.
  2. India looks for cooperation and investments from China with the spirit of mutual gains. The investment from China is most welcome and will get rule based fair and equitable treatment in India.
  3. I would also like to take this opportunity to inform you about the e-Visa facility which has been made available to the Chinese national, wherein you can apply for visa electronically and receive it electronically within 72 hours of application.
  4. You can join us through WeChat by scanning the QR code on the screen for updates on Consulate’s activities as well as on investment opportunities.

Thank you and wish you a very much!!
