Ceremony to welcome Indian Students organized at Soochow University

 

A ceremony to welcome Indian students, joining the first year academic session of medical courses at prestigious Soochow University was organized today by Consulate General of India. While interacting with students, Consul General Anil Kumar Rai congratulated them for starting a new phase of academic career and encouraged them to participate in various activities organized by the University. Consul General also advised students to assimilate themselves with the Chinese culture as well as spread Indian Culture among Chinese and international students. He advised the students to register at the Madad Portal, and keep in communication with Consulate through website, email, phone, and social media. During the course of interaction, the students were also briefed about the passport, visa and consular and welfare services including emergency assistance offered by the Consulate.

During meeting with the President of Soochow University Dr. Sidong Xiong, Consul General thanked him for providing a welcoming atmosphere to Indian students and discussed about academic performance and welfare of the Indian students and modalities for jointly organizing India Culture Week, comprising of screening of Indian films, food festival, photo exhibition, dance and music programmes. Both sides agreed to organize India Cultural Week at mutually convenient time during the current academic session.
