140 Indian companies participate under the Indian Pavilion at 17th China Interdye - 2017 (Apr 12, 2017)

A delegation of 140 Indian companies under the banner of Basic Chemicals, Cosmetics & Dyes Export Promotion Council (CHEMEXCIL) AND SHEFEXIL (Shellac & Forest Products Export Promotion Council) participated at the 17th China International Dye Industry, Pigments and Textile Chemicals Exhibition (China Interdye 2017) today.

2.      The Indian pavilion (the largest at the venue) was inaugurated jointly today by Consul General Prakash Gupta, along with Mr. Li Shousheng, Chairman, China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, Mr. S.K Ranjan, Deputy Sectretary, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, CHEMEXCIL Vice President Mr. Ajay Kadakia and local Chinese dignitaries (including the President of the Organizing Committee).

3.      It may be noted that dyes and intermediates along with organic and inorganic chemicals are key components of India’s export basket to China and most of the Indian participants were already selling into the Chinese market. All Indian participants were highly appreciative of the platform provided by China Interdye 2017 as it helped them to extend their sales not only in China but also in Europe and America. Most of the participants were either from Ahmedabad, Mumbai or Jaipur, where the chemical and dye industry in India, is mostly anchored.

4.      The China Interdye Exhibition is well known as a premier exhibition for Dyes and Dye Intermediates, Pigments and Textile Chemical industry.  China is one of the leading markets for Indian Dyes and Dye Intermediates accounting for approx 12.83% of exports of CHEMEXCIL’s products to China.  During 2015-16, exports of items covered under the purview of CHEMEXCIL to China were USD 986.06 million out of which Dyes and Dye Intermediates contributed USD 126.53 million.

5.      It is note-worthy that the ‘India Pavilion’ at China Interdye 2017 was much larger (1642 sq. m) than previous year and was one of the best received Indian Pavilions in Shanghai in recent years. It is expected that the Indian participation at the 2018 event will be on a much larger scale with a total area size of nearly 2000 sq meters.
