Indian tea put on display at 2016 China International Tea Expo at China National Tea Museum in Hangzhou

2016 China International Tea Expo was organized at Hangzhou on 25th March 2016. India was invited as a Focus Country to introduce Indian tea and its various flavours to Hangzhou tea lovers. Consul General Prakash Gupta participated at the Tea Expo which was attended by several hundreds of local participants from Hangzhou. A demonstration of Indian tea was also organized through a local Indian restaurant. In his remarks, Consul General underscored the vast potential of Indian tea exports into China and highlighted the merits of 4 key varieties of Indian tea i.e. Darjeeling, Assam, Nilgiri and Kangra. Vice Mayor of Hangzhou who also inaugurated the event, welcomed Indian tea imports into China and stated that during the upcoming G-20 Summit scheduled in Hangzhou, they would like to offer the best flavor of Longjing tea to the visiting leaders.
