Indian fashion designers make their presence felt in Shanghai

 


As their first entry into China’s fashion market, three of India’s top and internationally acclaimed fashion designers Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Nikasha Tawadey and Anand Kabra participated in the Asia Fashion Blooming 2010, organized by Shanghai Fashion Week in the newly inaugurated Shanghai International Fashion Centre on May 13, 2010.

 In the special presentation event for Shanghai World Expo which was called “Indian Mega Show”, the Indian fashion designers presented their latest collections which bore the unique feature of ethnic and contemporary designs. Lakme Fashion Week as India’s premier fashion and trade event since the year 2000 was also introduced to the Chinese fashion industry.

A large number of internationally famous fashion designers as well as local fashion designers were invited for the Indian show which received tremendous appreciation from all those present.

The event, which was part of the Shanghai International fashion Week, presented an excellent opportunity for the Indian fashion designers to reach out to a wider section of the Chinese fashion designers and fashion lovers. The event attracted special attention as this is the year of World Expo in Shanghai.
