Consulate General of India & Indian Association in Shanghai paid tribute to Tagore on his 150th Birth Anniversary

 

The Consulate General of India and the Indian Association in Shanghai jointly organised a cultural programme to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of poet Rabindranath Tagore on May 21, 2011 at Shanghai. Members of the  Indian Community and children of Consulate officials  presented Tagores multi dimensional personality through  drama,  poetry and music written and composed by him. An audio-visual on Tagore’s birth anniversary celebrations in Shanghai since 2009 was presented by Mr. Bivash Mukherjee, reporter in Shanghai Daily. Members of the Indian Community along with their family members  were present in large number.  The performance received wide acclaim from all those present. This was the first time that the Indian community in Shanghai celebrated the birth anniversary of Tagore in this grand scale.
