Consul General Mrs Riva Ganguly Das, Vice President of Shanghai Writers' Association Prof Zhao Lihong & Director General, FAO of Huangpu District Ms Wu Xiaoxin paid floral tributes to renowned poet Rabindranath Tagore on May 13, 2012 on the occasion of his 151st birth anniversary. Members of the Indian community also rendered songs, composed by Tagore, on the occasion. The simple ceremony, held at Tagore Bust on Maoming Lu-Nanchang Lu, saw attendance in large numbers from members of Indian community as well as Chinese admirers of Tagore. The Tagore bust in Shanghai, donated by Indian government, was unveiled by Her Excellency The President of India Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil on May 30, 2010 during her state visit to China.
