India - China (Nanjing) IT-ITES Sector Seminar

 

A total of 75 Chinese companies participated in the Seminar. The chief guest from the Chinese side was Mr. Zheng Zeguang, Standing Committee Member of the CPC Nanjing Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor of Nanjing. JS (IT) in her speech talked about the benefits for Chinese enterprises by partnering with India’s IT sector. Presentation by Mr. Zhang Zengquan of the Secretariat of the Nanjing Software Industry Association focused on the development of the IT Industry in Nanjing and the road map for transforming Nanjing into China’s leading destination for IT and outsourcing. Presentations were also made by representatives of Infosys and TCS as well as Chinese IT company representatives from Neusoft and VanceInfo. The seminar was followed by a B2B networking session.

 Interactions in Shanghai

In Shanghai, Mrs. Bhatnagar, JS(IT) and Dr. Satpathy, Advisor (IT) had a meeting with Mr. Dai Haibo, Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Economic and Information Commission on the morning of 5th September. The interaction focused mainly on exchange of views on what both sides were doing and planned to do in the future to improve both the infrastructure for IT and also for enabling greater delivery of public services through IT and e-governance.

An interaction with Indian IT Industry representatives based in Shanghai and East China region was also organized by the Consulate. The Indian delegation also visited Huawei R&D center.
