Reception Banquet on the occasion of India\'s 64th Republic Day

 

The Consulate General of India in Shanghai hosted a reception on January 25, 2013 on the occasion of 64th Republic Day 2013 at Hotel JW Marriott, Shanghai. The reception was attended by Vice Mayor of Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, Mr Jiang Ping, representatives of Shanghai People’s Congress and Shanghai Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference as well as a number of municipal leaders and senior government officials from the provinces of Jiangsu & Zhejiang. Local dignitaries, academics, businessmen, media persons and prominent Indians from Shanghai, Jiangsu & Zhejiang as well as members of the Consular Corps also graced the occasion. More than 300 people attended the reception.

In his speech, Consul General highlighted the multi-faceted relations between India & China; the deepening of trade & economic relations; and important role played by East China region in the bilateral economic ties. A colourful and attractive Rangoli, prepared by members of the Indian community, adorned the entrance of the reception hall.
