The 64th Republic Day was celebrated at the Consulate General of India, Shanghai on January 26, 2013 with great joy and patriotic fervour.

Consul General of India Mr Naveen Srivastava hoisted the National Flag and read out the President’s message to members of the Indian community who had gathered in large numbers with their families. Also present were Indian medical students from Suzhou, Nantong and other universities including China Europe International Business School. Over 200 resident Indians attended the event, despite freezing temperatures to salute the National Flag.

A group of spirited Indians rendered patriotic songs on the occasion. An informal gathering over light refreshments followed.
